Figma Pricing (2026): Seats, Plans and AI Credits

Quick answer

Figma is free on the Starter plan, and a Professional Full seat costs $16 a month billed yearly (about $20 billed monthly). Cheaper seats exist for people who do not design: a Dev seat is $12 and a Collab seat $3 a month on yearly billing. Organization ($55 per Full seat) and Enterprise ($90 per Full seat) are billed annually only. Viewers and commenters are free on every paid plan.

You pay per seat, and the seat decides what you can use. Only a Full seat gets complete access to Figma Design, Figma Make and Figma Sites. Every seat includes AI credits: 3,000 to 4,250 a month on Full seats and 500 on others. Most individual designers need one Professional Full seat. Prices are in US dollars from Figma's pricing page as of 25 September 2026.

Prices checked 25 September 2026 on Figma's official pricing page. Prices are in US dollars unless stated and can change at any time.

Is there a free plan?

Starter is free with no time limit. You get unlimited personal drafts, one team with one folder and 3 files, 30 days of version history, FigJam and Slides, and 150 AI credits a day up to 500 a month. You can try Figma Make, but you cannot bring in team library styles, and a Make app can only go on the public web if you also publish it to the Figma Community. AI image, text and workflow tools, Dev Mode and team libraries need a paid plan, and the MCP server allows just 20 tool calls a month.

Hidden costs and catches
  • Monthly billing costs about 25% more. A Professional Full seat is $16 a month on yearly billing but about $20 billed monthly.
  • Mid-year seats cost the monthly price. On a yearly Professional plan, seats you add later are billed as a separate monthly subscription at the monthly rate unless you move them to the annual plan.
  • Seat credits are small on cheaper seats. Dev and Collab seats get 500 credits a month. Figma's own examples put an app generation in Make at 100+ credits, so that is five builds at most. Heavy users need paid add-on credits.
  • Credits are personal and expire. Seat credits cannot be shared between people and reset monthly with no rollover.
  • Free beta AI will start charging. The Figma agent and Weave tools are free during beta, but Figma says they will use credits once generally available.
  • Organization and Enterprise are annual only, and cancelling or downgrading them goes through Figma's sales team.

ScenarioCostHow we got there
Solo designer on one Professional Full seat$192/year billed yearly; about $240/year billed monthly$16 x 12 = $192 on yearly billing; about $20 x 12 = $240 on monthly billing. Includes 3,000 AI credits a month for Figma Make and AI tools.
Startup: 2 designers, 3 developers, 5 product and marketing people on Professional$83/month ($996/year) billed yearly2 Full seats x $16 = $32, 3 Dev seats x $12 = $36, 5 Collab seats x $3 = $15, total $83 a month, x 12 = $996. AI credits: 2 x 3,000 + 8 x 500 = 10,000 a month, held per person. Stakeholders who only view and comment can be free viewers instead of Collab seats, which would save $180 a year.
Company with 10 designers and 10 developers on Organization$800/month ($9,600/year), billed annually10 Full seats x $55 = $550 plus 10 Dev seats x $25 = $250, total $800 a month, x 12 = $9,600. Adds SSO, shared libraries across teams and Code Connect. Designers get 3,500 credits each a month.
Five-designer team: yearly versus monthly billing on Professional$960/year billed yearly versus about $1,200/year billed monthly5 x $16 x 12 = $960 against 5 x about $20 x 12 = $1,200, so yearly billing saves about $240.

Is Figma worth the money?Ranked #1 in our Best AI UI Design Tools

For anyone who designs with a team, Figma's Professional plan is good value. $16 a month on yearly billing buys the industry-standard design tool, Figma Make and 3,000 AI credits, and the cheap Dev ($12) and Collab ($3) seats keep costs down for the rest of the team. Free viewers mean stakeholders cost nothing.

The weak spot is AI volume. Figma's own examples put a Make app generation at 100+ credits, so a Dev or Collab seat's 500 credits covers five builds at most, and heavy Make users on Full seats will also need add-ons. Organization at $55 a seat is a big step up and mostly buys admin, SSO and cross-team libraries. If you only need a website, Framer is cheaper per site; if you want free and open-source, try Penpot. How many credits Figma AI features use

Figma publishes these rates (as of 25 August 2026):

Action Credits
Figma Make: change a font about 30+
Figma Make: make a design interactive about 75+
Figma Make: generate an app from scratch about 100+
Generate an image with ChatGPT Images 2.0 2
Generate an image with Nano Banana 2 Lite 6
Generate an image with Nano Banana 2 16
Generate a Figma Slides deck from ChatGPT about 28 to 72+

Make costs rise with the model you pick, the complexity of the task and how much context you attach, including long chat histories. Plan mode is billed separately from the build that follows it. Hover the credits icon under any finished prompt to see what it used.

Discounts and cancelling

Eligible students and educators get Figma for Education free, and Figma has a separate plan for government teams. On Professional you can downgrade or cancel yourself from the admin dashboard; on Organization and Enterprise you must contact sales. There is no option to buy single products such as FigJam alone; you choose a plan and seat types instead.

Money-saving tips from our editors
  1. Pay yearly. A Professional Full seat drops from about $20 to $16 a month, saving about $48 per designer each year.
  2. Give engineers Dev seats ($12) and product managers Collab seats ($3) instead of Full seats, and leave people who only review as free viewers.
  3. When you add a seat mid-year on Professional, move it onto your annual subscription in the admin settings; otherwise it keeps billing at the monthly price.
  4. Set per-person AI credit limits before enabling pay-as-you-go, so one heavy Make user cannot run up the team's bill.
  5. Use cheaper image models such as ChatGPT Images 2.0 (2 credits) for drafts and save Nano Banana 2 (16 credits) for final images.

A shared set of reusable components, colours, fonts and rules that keeps a product's design consistent.
MCP server
A connector based on the Model Context Protocol that lets AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor read and edit Figma files.
