Best AI Website Builders

AI website builders now split into two groups. Vibe-coding builders (Lovable, Bolt.new, v0, Replit, Base44, Figma Make) turn a chat prompt into real code: a React app with pages, logins and a database. Classic site builders with AI (Framer, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Hostinger, Durable) use AI to draft a site inside their own drag-and-drop editor, then host it for you.

We ranked 12 of them on five things: how good the first draft is, how easy it is to finish, what hosting and domain you get, value for money, and whether you own the result. All prices and limits were checked on the vendors' own pricing pages on 23 September 2026. Credit systems change often, so treat every number as a snapshot.

Quick answer

Lovable is the best AI website builder for most people in September 2026. It turns a prompt into a full, hosted web app, syncs the code to GitHub on every plan, and starts at $25/month. If you want a polished marketing site rather than an app, pick Framer (from $10/month billed yearly). Pick Replit or Bolt.new for more developer control, and Wix or Hostinger if you want the simplest path to a small-business site with domain and email in one bill.

Expert reviews

#1 · Non-developers building a real web app or site from a prompt

Lovable

by Lovable · Freemium · $25/month (Pro)
8.8/10

Lovable is the easiest way to go from an idea to a working, hosted web app. You describe what you want in chat, and it writes a React front end, sets up a database, logins and hosting, and lets you tweak the design visually. Its drafts are usually the most polished of the vibe-coding tools, and it now runs Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5.

Ownership is a real strength. Every plan, even Free, can sync the code to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket, so you are never stuck. Custom domains and removing the Lovable badge need Pro.

The weak spot is cost control. Credits drain fast on big or vague requests, and the free plan caps you at 30 credits a month. Business plans cost twice as much per top-up credit ($0.60 vs $0.30 on Pro).

Pick it if you are a founder, marketer or designer who wants a real app (sign-ups, dashboards, payments) without writing code. Skip it if you only need a simple brochure site; Framer, Wix or Squarespace are cheaper and easier to maintain for that.

#2 · Polished marketing, portfolio and startup landing sites

Framer

by Framer · Freemium · $10/month (Basic, billed yearly)
8.4/10

Framer is the best AI builder for sites whose job is to look great and load fast: startup homepages, portfolios, product launches. Its AI agent drafts whole pages, fills the CMS, writes custom code components and can review your site for typos, missing alt text and SEO gaps before you publish. You can choose GPT, Sonnet, Opus or Fable models for each job.

Because it is a visual design tool first, what the AI makes is easy to fix by hand on a canvas that feels like Figma. Hosting, SSL, a CMS and a custom domain are included from $10 a month on yearly billing, which is excellent value.

The catch is lock-in. Framer hosts what you build, and there is no simple one-click export of a whole site as code. It is also not an app builder: logins, databases and complex logic belong in Lovable or Replit.

Pick it if you want a fast, beautiful marketing site you can keep editing yourself. Skip it if you need a web app, an online store with deep inventory tools, or full code ownership.

#3 · Full-stack apps with a backend, database and hosting in one place

Replit

by Replit · Freemium · $20/month (Core)
8.3/10

Replit is the strongest pick when your "website" is really an app: a booking tool, a client portal, an internal dashboard. Replit Agent writes the code, sets up the database, runs it and deploys it, all in the browser or on your phone. The new Replit Design suite (July 2026) adds AI design variations, templates and brand systems before the agent builds.

The big 2026 change is Free Mode. Since 18 August, Core and Pro users can run everyday tasks on OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Luna without spending credits, up to about 30 hours of chat a month on Core. That makes the $20 plan go much further. Harder work still uses paid "Power" and "Max" modes, billed by effort, which can surprise you.

You get a real code project you can download or push to Git, so lock-in is lower than with classic builders.

Pick it if you want apps with logins, data and APIs, and like seeing the code. Skip it if you want a simple, design-led marketing site; Framer or Squarespace are easier. Developers should also read our best AI for coding ranking.

#4 · Fast prototypes and client projects with a generous token budget

Bolt.new

by StackBlitz · Freemium · $25/month (Pro)
8.3/10

Bolt.new builds full-stack web apps in the browser, much like Lovable, but it feels closer to a developer's workspace. You see the files, the terminal and the running preview side by side. Hosting and databases are included on every plan, and Pro adds a custom domain, removes the Bolt badge and lets unused tokens roll over.

Its newest move is Bolt Forge (14 September 2026), an agent that runs only on open-weight models such as Kimi K3 and GLM 5.3. Bolt says Forge scores about 91% of its best paid model on its own Bolt Build Index, and Pro users get up to 50 times more usage during the preview, which ends 14 October. The trade: if you opt in, your de-identified sessions go into datasets Bolt licenses to AI developers. Sessions from the EEA, UK and Switzerland are excluded.

Token billing is clearer than vague "credits", but big apps still burn through 10M tokens quickly.

Pick it if you are a developer or agency who wants fast prototypes and full access to the code. Skip it if you want the gentlest start; Lovable's drafts are more polished for beginners.

#5 · React and Next.js developers who deploy on Vercel

v0 by Vercel

by Vercel · Freemium · $30/user/month (Plus)
8.2/10

v0 writes some of the cleanest front-end code of any AI builder. It outputs standard Next.js and React, so a developer can pick it up, read it and extend it without fighting odd patterns. It deploys to Vercel in one click and syncs to GitHub even on the free plan, which makes lock-in very low. Design Mode lets you adjust layout and styling visually.

It is less friendly for non-coders. v0 assumes you know what a component or an environment variable is, and backends usually mean wiring up a separate database service. Pricing has also moved: the $20 Premium plan is closing, so the paid entry is now Plus at $30 per user, with $30 of credits plus $2 of free daily credits when you log in. Free users get $5 of credits and 7 messages a day.

Pick it if you are a developer or designer-developer who wants production-quality React code and already uses Vercel. Skip it if you have never touched code and just want a site live today; Lovable, Wix or Framer will get you there with less friction.

  • Backend setup is more manual than Lovable or Replit
#6 · Beginners building internal tools and simple apps with no setup

Base44

by Wix · Freemium · $16/month (Starter, billed yearly)
8.1/10

Base44 is the most beginner-friendly app builder here. You describe an app, and it sets up everything behind it itself: database, user logins, hosting and common integrations such as email. There is no separate backend service to connect, which removes the step where most non-coders get stuck.

Wix bought Base44 for $80 million in cash in June 2025, six months after launch, and it now sits alongside Wix's own site builder. Since then it has added two-way GitHub sync on paid plans, so your code is no longer trapped.

The credit model is its main weakness. The free plan gives only 25 message credits a month, and the $16 Starter plan 100, so a long session of back-and-forth changes can empty your month. "Integration credits" (for things like sending email or calling AI inside your app) are counted separately, which makes cost harder to estimate.

Pick it if you want an internal tool, a simple customer portal or a small SaaS idea running with the least setup. Skip it if you need a design-led public website (use Framer or Wix) or plan many revisions a day (Lovable's rollover credits go further).

  • Design output is plainer than Framer or Lovable
#7 · Small businesses that want AI help plus booking, store and marketing tools

Wix

by Wix.com · Freemium · $17/month (Light, billed yearly)
7.9/10

Wix is the safest all-round choice for a small business that wants AI to do the first draft and then needs real business tools: bookings, an online store, email marketing, forms and a mobile app to manage it all. You chat with the AI builder about your business, it produces a full site, and you refine it with prompts or by dragging elements. The Aria agent stays with you after launch for design changes and business questions.

Hosting, security and a free domain for the first year come with every paid plan, and Wix is one of the few tools here with a genuine free plan (with Wix ads).

The downsides are price and lock-in. Plans start at $17 a month billed yearly and the useful e-commerce tiers cost $29 to $39. You cannot export a Wix site to another host; if you leave, you rebuild.

Pick it if you run a local business, shop or service and want everything in one dashboard. Skip it if you care about owning your code, or want the most design freedom (Framer, Webflow).

#8 · The lowest upfront cost for a small site with domain and email

Hostinger AI Website Builder

by Hostinger · Paid · $2.99/month (48-month term)
7.7/10

Hostinger is the cheapest way here to get a real website online with your own domain and email. Its AI builder, which now merges the old Website Builder and the Horizons app builder, drafts a site from a short description, and you finish it in a simple drag-and-drop editor. Hosting, SSL, a free domain for the first year and mailboxes all come in the same bill.

Read the price carefully. The $2.99 a month deal needs a 48-month term paid upfront ($143.52), and Premium then renews at $10.99 a month. AI credits are a one-time gift (5 on Premium, 15 on the higher plans), so heavy AI editing is not what you are paying for. The AI drafts are serviceable but more template-like than Framer or Lovable.

Pick it if you want a small business, portfolio or personal site for the lowest total cost and are happy to finish it by hand. Skip it if you want the AI to keep doing the work after launch, need an advanced app, or dislike long prepaid terms.

#9 · Designers and marketing teams who need a professional CMS site

Webflow

by Webflow · Freemium · $15/month (Basic, billed yearly)
7.6/10

Webflow is the professional's site builder: a visual editor that maps closely to real HTML and CSS, a strong CMS and some of the best hosting and SEO controls available. Webflow AI now helps generate pages, sections and content, and higher tiers add AEO agents that aim to make pages easier for AI search engines to cite.

For teams, it is a very capable platform. Hosting is fast and reliable, the CMS handles large content sites, and you can export static code from paid workspace plans (CMS content does not export as a working site).

The problem for beginners is the learning curve. Webflow's AI gives you a draft, but finishing it means understanding boxes, classes and layouts in a way Wix and Framer hide. Pricing has also shifted to new Basic ($15) and Premium ($25) plans, both quoted billed yearly.

Pick it if you are a web designer, agency or marketing team building a large content site that must rank well. Skip it if you want the AI to do almost everything; Framer or Wix are faster for that.

  • Advanced AEO agents only on top tiers
#10 · Creatives and small shops who want tidy design with little effort

Squarespace

by Squarespace · Paid · $19/month (Basic, billed yearly)
7.6/10

Squarespace is the classic choice for good-looking sites with very little effort, and its AI tools fit that style. The AI setup asks about your brand and goals, then builds a site from Squarespace's well-designed layouts and writes first-draft copy. Hosting, SSL, a free domain for the first year and solid store and scheduling tools come with every plan.

The AI itself is more limited than Wix's. Credits are small (10 one-time on Basic, 20 a month on Core), so you will do most of the refining yourself. That is fine, because the editor is easy and hard to make ugly.

Watch the fees. Basic charges a 2% store transaction fee and 7% on memberships, so sellers should start on Core ($29 a month billed yearly). There is no free plan and no code export.

Pick it if you are a photographer, creator, restaurant or small shop who values design and simplicity. Skip it if you want heavy AI automation, a free plan or code you can take elsewhere.

#11 · Design teams already working in Figma

Figma Make and Figma Sites

by Figma · Freemium · $16/month (Professional Full seat)
7.4/10

Figma now has two AI routes to the web. Figma Make turns a prompt, plus your existing designs, images or PDFs, into a working, code-backed prototype or small app. It can pull in your team's components and styles through "Make kits", which keeps output on-brand. Figma Sites publishes a website straight from a Figma design, with a Figma subdomain or your own domain.

For design teams this is very convenient: no hand-off, and the result matches the design system. A Professional Full seat costs $16 a month with 3,000 AI credits, and the free Starter plan allows up to 500 credits a month to try it.

It is still behind the specialists. Sites remains in beta, hosting features are thinner than Framer or Webflow, and Figma lists deeper codebase integration as coming soon. Non-designers will find the Figma interface a lot to learn just to make a website.

Pick it if your team lives in Figma and wants prototypes or simple sites that match your design system. Skip it if you need a production site today; Framer does the same job with mature hosting.

#12 · Sole traders who want a site, CRM and AI blog posts in minutes

Durable

by Durable · Freemium · $25/month (Launch)
7.3/10

Durable is built for one person running a small service business: a plumber, a tutor, a consultant. You answer a few questions and it produces a complete one-page site in about a minute, then adds the tools that business needs: a simple CRM, bookings, Google Business Profile help and AI agents that write blog posts and reply to leads.

That focus makes it the fastest tool here to go from nothing to "live with a contact form". The free plan is usable on a Durable subdomain, and paid plans include a custom domain.

The trade-off is depth. Designs are template-driven and look similar from site to site, there is little room for custom features, and you cannot export the site. As the business grows, you may outgrow it and need Wix or Squarespace.

Pick it if you are a sole trader who wants a decent site, leads and reviews handled with almost no effort. Skip it if design, e-commerce or future flexibility matter to you.

Ease of use20%How fast a non-expert gets from prompt to a finished site, and how easy it is to fix what the AI got wrong.
Hosting & publishing20%Built-in hosting, custom domains, SEO tools, forms, databases, e-commerce and everything needed to go live.

Vibe-coding builders vs classic builders with AI

The first choice is not which brand, but which kind of tool.

Vibe-coding builders Classic builders with AI
Examples Lovable, Bolt.new, v0, Replit, Base44, Figma Make Framer, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Hostinger, Durable
What the AI makes Real code (usually React) Pages inside the vendor's own editor
Good for Apps: logins, dashboards, databases, payments Marketing sites, portfolios, shops, local businesses
Editing after launch More prompts, or edit the code Drag and drop, plus AI prompts
Code export Usually yes (GitHub sync) Rarely; Webflow can export static code
Main risk Credits run out; bugs you cannot fix without code Lock-in to one host

If you mainly need people to read about your business and contact you, a classic builder is cheaper and easier to keep tidy. If people need to sign in and do something on your site, pick a vibe-coding builder.

Pricing compared (September 2026)

All prices are USD from each vendor's pricing page on 23 September 2026. "Yearly" means the monthly price when billed once a year.

Tool Free plan Entry paid plan What limits you
Lovable 5 credits/day, max 30/month Pro $25/month (100 credits) Credits per edit
Framer Yes, 500 AI credits Basic $10/month (yearly) Bandwidth, CMS, AI credits
Replit Limited Core $20/month ($18 yearly) $20 premium usage + Free Mode hours
Bolt.new 1M tokens/month Pro $25/month (~$18 yearly) 10M tokens/month
v0 $5 credits, 7 msgs/day Plus $30/user/month $30 credits + $2 daily
Base44 25 messages/month Starter $16/month (yearly) 100 messages/month
Wix Yes, with ads Light $17/month (yearly) Storage and plan features
Hostinger No $2.99/month (48-month term) 5 one-time AI credits
Webflow Starter, 200 AI credits Basic $15/month (yearly) Pages, bandwidth, CMS
Squarespace No (14-day trial) Basic $19/month (yearly) 10 one-time AI credits, 2% store fee
Figma 500 AI credits/month $16/month Full seat 3,000 AI credits
Durable Yes, subdomain Launch $25/month ($22 yearly) AI posts and lead replies

Two patterns stand out. App builders charge by usage (credits, tokens or messages), so your bill depends on how much you ask the AI to change. Classic builders charge a flat plan and treat AI as a small extra. For a site you will rarely edit, a flat plan is usually cheaper over a year.

The market in 2026: money, mergers and cheaper models

  • Huge funding rounds. Lovable raised $400 million at a $13.3 billion valuation in August 2026 and says users have created 60 million projects. Replit raised a $400 million Series D at a $9 billion valuation in March 2026, up from $3 billion in September 2025.
  • Big platforms buying in. Wix bought Base44 for $80 million in cash in June 2025. Figma added Make and Sites to its paid seats. Hostinger folded its Horizons app builder into one AI builder.
  • Open and cheaper models. Bolt's Forge agent (September 2026) runs only on open-weight models like Kimi K3 and GLM 5.3. Replit's Free Mode runs everyday work on GPT-5.6 Luna without using credits. Both are ways to cut the cost of each prompt, which had become users' biggest complaint.
  • Frontier models arrive fast. Lovable rolled out Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 within days of its 22 September launch. Framer lets you pick GPT, Sonnet, Opus or Fable per task.

How to choose

  1. Just need a business site with your own domain? Wix (all-in-one), Squarespace (design) or Hostinger (lowest cost).
  2. Want a beautiful marketing or portfolio site? Framer. Webflow if a professional team will run a large content site.
  3. Building an app with users and data, no coding? Lovable first, Base44 for the simplest setup.
  4. Comfortable with code, or plan to hire developers later? Bolt.new, v0 or Replit. All three give you a real, portable code project.
  5. Design team in Figma? Try Figma Make for prototypes before paying for another tool.
  6. Sole trader who wants leads handled? Durable.

Also considered: 10Web builds WordPress sites with AI from $10/month (1 site, 100 AI credits, or $120 a year). It is a good fit if you specifically want WordPress, but its AI drafts and editor lagged the tools above in our review.

Expert tips
  1. Before you prompt an app builder, write a one-page brief: the pages you need, who logs in, and what data you store. Paste it as your first message. One clear brief uses far fewer credits than twenty corrections.
  2. Connect GitHub on day one in Lovable, Bolt.new, v0 or Base44. If a later prompt breaks your app, you can roll back, and you always keep a copy of your code.
  3. Use the AI for the first draft, then fix text, colours and spacing by hand in the visual editor. Hand edits are free; asking the AI to move a button costs credits.
  4. On Hostinger, compare the renewal price, not the intro price: Premium goes from $2.99 to $10.99 a month after the 48-month term.
  5. On Replit Core, leave routine tasks on Free Mode and switch to the paid Power or Max modes only for hard bugs. Your $20 of usage then lasts the whole month.

Jargon explained

Vibe coding
Building software by describing what you want in plain language and letting an AI write the code, rather than typing the code yourself.
Credits
The units many AI builders use to meter usage. Each prompt or change uses some credits; bigger changes use more. When they run out, you wait or pay for more.
Code export / GitHub sync
Copying your site's code out of the builder into your own storage (like GitHub). It means you can move to another host or hire a developer later.
Custom domain
Your own web address, like yourbusiness.com, instead of a free address on the builder's site such as yourbusiness.framer.website.
CMS
Content management system: the part of a site builder where you store and edit repeating content such as blog posts, products or team members.
Lock-in
When your site only works on one company's platform, so leaving means rebuilding it from scratch.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI website builder in 2026?

Lovable is our top pick overall because it builds real, hosted web apps from a prompt and lets you sync the code to GitHub on every plan. For a design-led marketing site, Framer is better value from $10/month billed yearly. For a simple small-business site, Wix is the easiest all-in-one choice.

Is there a free AI website builder?

Yes. Lovable (5 credits a day, up to 30 a month), Bolt.new (1M tokens a month), v0 ($5 of credits, 7 messages a day), Base44 (25 messages a month), Framer, Wix, Webflow and Durable all have free plans. Free sites use the vendor's subdomain and usually show its branding. Squarespace and Hostinger have no free plan; Squarespace offers a 14-day trial.

Can I export the code from an AI website builder?

From the vibe-coding builders, yes. Lovable offers Git sync on every plan and code download on Pro. v0, Bolt.new and Replit give you a standard code project, and Base44 has two-way GitHub sync from its Builder plan. Classic builders mostly do not: Wix, Squarespace, Framer, Hostinger and Durable keep your site on their hosting. Webflow can export static code on paid workspace plans.

Lovable vs Bolt.new, which is better?

Lovable is better for beginners. Its first drafts are more polished and it handles the database and logins for you. Bolt.new suits developers and agencies: you see the files and terminal, tokens roll over, and its new open-model Forge agent gives Pro users much more usage during its preview. Both start at $25/month.

Do AI website builders include hosting and a domain?

All 12 tools here include hosting. A custom domain needs a paid plan almost everywhere. Wix, Squarespace and Hostinger include a free domain for the first year; Durable includes one with every paid plan; Base44's Elite plan includes one for a year. With Lovable, Bolt.new, Framer and Webflow you connect a domain you buy separately.

Why did my AI builder credits run out so fast?

Most app builders charge per change, and big or vague requests cost more. Each round of "that's not right, try again" uses more credits. Write one clear, detailed prompt, make small visual fixes by hand in the editor where you can, and check whether your plan rolls unused credits over (Lovable and Bolt.new do).

Are AI-built websites good for SEO?

Classic builders (Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Framer) have mature SEO settings: page titles, redirects, sitemaps and fast hosting. App builders often produce single-page React apps, which can be harder for search engines to read unless the tool renders pages on the server. If search traffic matters most, start with Framer, Webflow or Wix. See our best AI for SEO ranking for tools that help after launch.
