Adobe Firefly Pricing (2026): Plans, Credits, Free Tier

Quick answer

Adobe Firefly has a free tier and four paid plans: Standard $9.99, Pro $19.99, Pro Plus $49.99 and Premium $199.99 a month. They include 2,000, 4,000, 10,000 and 50,000 generative credits a month, plus unlimited standard image generations. Until 21 October 2026 Adobe is also cutting Pro Plus and Premium by 30% for the first year. These are Adobe's US prices on 25 September 2026.

Most people should pick Firefly Pro. For $10 more than Standard it doubles the credits and adds Adobe Express Premium and Photoshop on the web and mobile. If you already pay for Creative Cloud Pro, you already get 4,000 credits and unlimited standard generations, so you probably need no Firefly plan at all.

Prices checked 25 September 2026 on Adobe Firefly's official pricing page. Prices are in US dollars unless stated and can change at any time.

Is there a free plan?

Anyone with a free Adobe account gets a limited number of free generations each day across image, video and audio, on a curated set of models that currently includes Google's Nano Banana and Luma's Ray3.14. The limits refresh daily, but Adobe does not publish exact numbers and says they can change. Free users do not get unlimited standard generations. It is enough to test Firefly, not to rely on it for client work.

Hidden costs and catches
  • Partner models cost far more credits: a Nano Banana Pro image uses 40 credits and a high-resolution GPT Image 2 image 80, against 10 for Firefly Image 5.
  • Video eats credits: plan pages quote up to 20 five-second videos on Standard, but at 1080p Adobe's own video model uses 100 credits per second, so 2,000 credits cover just 20 seconds.
  • No rollover: unused credits vanish at your monthly reset date.
  • Promotional prices end: the 30% cut on Pro Plus and Premium applies to the first year only.
  • Creative Cloud Standard and single apps include just 25 credits a month for anyone who subscribed on or after 17 June 2025.
  • Credit add-on plans (from 2,000 credits a month) cost extra if you run out mid-month.

What you will actually pay

Worked examples using the published prices above.

ScenarioCostHow we got there
Solo creator on Standard making Nano Banana 2 images$9.99/month2,000 credits / 20 credits per Nano Banana 2 image = 100 partner-model images a month, plus unlimited standard generations.
Freelancer who also needs Express and Photoshop on the web$239.88/yearFirefly Pro at $19.99 x 12 = $239.88. Buying Express Premium ($9.99 in Adobe's US App Store listing) and Firefly Standard ($9.99) separately costs $19.98 a month with half the credits.
Design team of 5 on Firefly Pro for teams$1,199.40/year5 x $19.99 = $99.95 a month on an annual plan billed monthly; $99.95 x 12 = $1,199.40.
Video creator on Pro Plus in the first year$419.64/year$34.97 x 12 = $419.64 with the launch discount. 10,000 credits / 100 credits per second = 100 seconds of 1080p Firefly video a month. At the $49.99 list price the year would cost $599.88.

Is Adobe Firefly worth the money?Ranked #6 in our Best AI Image Generator

Firefly Pro at $19.99 a month is good value if you use Adobe Express or Photoshop, and poor value if you do not. Its credits are the same as Creative Cloud Pro's, and it bundles two apps that cost money on their own. Standard at $9.99 makes sense if you mainly generate images, because standard generations are unlimited and 2,000 credits cover occasional partner-model or video work.

Pro Plus and Premium only pay off for heavy video users, and the current discounts end after a year. If you just want top-quality images, going direct is cheaper: Gemini is free for light use and ChatGPT Go costs $8 a month.

Firefly plans vs Creative Cloud plans

Every Creative Cloud plan includes some generative credits, but the amounts vary a lot. Figures below are from Adobe's generative credits FAQ on 25 September 2026, for people who subscribed on or after 17 June 2025.

Plan Monthly generative credits
Creative Cloud Pro 4,000 for premium features, plus unlimited standard
Firefly Standard / Pro / Pro Plus / Premium 2,000 / 4,000 / 10,000 / 50,000, plus unlimited standard
Photography 1TB 1,000
Firefly mobile and web plan 750
Adobe Express Premium 250
Lightroom 250
Creative Cloud Standard 25
Single apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere and others) 25 (500 if you subscribed before 17 June 2025)

If you hold several subscriptions, the credits add up. Firefly plan credits work in Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom and Express as well as Firefly. Apple's App Store also lists a Firefly Mobile subscription at $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year.

How credits are spent

Standard features, such as Generative Fill with Adobe's own models, are unlimited on paid Firefly and Creative Cloud Pro plans. Premium features use credits at different rates:

Feature Credits
Firefly Image 5 10 per image
Nano Banana 2 (Google) 20 at 1K or 2K, 30 at 4K
Nano Banana Pro (Google) 40 per image
GPT Image 2 (OpenAI) 5, 20 or 80 by resolution
FLUX.2 20 per image
Firefly video 20, 50 or 100 per second at 540p, 720p or 1080p
Sound effects 10 per generation
Music 20 per minute

Several partner rates are marked by Adobe as limited-time prices. If a generation fails, Adobe says credits are usually refunded within minutes.

Money-saving tips from our editors
  1. Check whether you already have credits. Creative Cloud Pro includes 4,000 a month, the same as Firefly Pro.
  2. Take the Pro Plus or Premium first-year discount only if you would still pay the full price in year two, and set a reminder before renewal.
  3. Generate partner-model images at 1K or 2K and upscale only the winner; Nano Banana 2 costs 20 credits there against 30 at 4K.
  4. Do routine edits with standard features (unlimited on paid plans) and save credits for partner models and video.
  5. If you only work on your phone, compare the App Store's $4.99-a-month Firefly Mobile subscription before paying for Standard.
