What you will actually pay
Worked examples using the published prices above.
| Scenario | Cost | How we got there |
|---|---|---|
| Team of 3 on Basic | $324/year billed yearly | 3 x $9 = $27 a month, x 12 = $324. Billed monthly: 3 x $12 = $36 a month, x 12 = $432. |
| Team of 7 on Standard (pays for 10 seats) | $1,440/year billed yearly | 7 people fall in the 10-seat bucket: 10 x $12 = $120 a month, x 12 = $1,440. Billed monthly: 10 x $14 x 12 = $1,680. The 2,000-credit bundle is listed at $20 a month but was covered by a special offer when we checked. |
| What 3,000 Pro credits buy in a month | Included with Pro | At monday.com's estimates: 3,000 / 120 = 25 hours of AI Notetaker, or 3,000 / 8 = 375 AI block actions, or 3,000 / 150 = 20 up to 3,000 / 50 = 60 intermediate agent tasks. Mixing features splits the pool. |
| 3 sellers on monday CRM Standard | $612/year billed yearly | 3 x $17 = $51 a month, x 12 = $612. Billed monthly: 3 x $25 = $75 a month, x 12 = $900. |
monday.com pricing compared with rivals
| Tool | Paid plans from | Free plan | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| monday.com | $9/seat/month billed yearly (Basic), 3-seat minimum | Yes: up to 2 seats, 3 boards and 200 items | The tool on this page |
| Asana | $10.99/user/month billed yearly (Starter) | Yes: Personal, up to 2 users | AI Teammate requests and 50,000 AI Studio credits a month included; seats in steps of 1 up to 5 users. |
| ClickUp | $7/user/month billed yearly (Unlimited) | Yes: Free Forever, 60 MB storage | Cheaper seats with docs and chat, but AI is an add-on from $9 per user charged on every member. |
| Notion | $10/member/month billed yearly (Plus) | Yes, with a Notion AI trial | Full AI comes with Business at $20 billed yearly, with no separate credit bundle for everyday AI. |
| Jira | $7.91/user/month (Standard, monthly billing) | Yes: up to 10 users | Built for software teams; Rovo AI credits scale per user. |
| Trello | $5/user/month billed yearly (Standard) | Yes: up to 10 collaborators per Workspace | Simple boards and cheaper seats, with no seat buckets. |
| HubSpot (Sales Hub) | $7/seat/month billed annually (Starter, new-customer offer) | Yes: free CRM for up to 2 users | Deeper CRM than monday CRM; Professional costs $90 per seat billed annually plus a $1,500 onboarding fee. |
monday.com is good value for teams of 10 or more who will actually use Standard or Pro features; small teams pay a premium for the buckets. At 10 seats, Standard costs $120 a month billed yearly for timelines, guests, automations and 2,000 AI credits, which is in line with Asana Starter ($109.90 for 10 seats). A team of 6 pays the same as a team of 10, so bucket maths matters more than the seat price.
The AI is fair value if you use it steadily and watch credits. The minimum bundles are modest: 2,000 credits covers about 16 hours of AI Notetaker, or roughly 13 to 40 intermediate agent tasks. Heavy agent or vibe users should expect to buy a bigger bucket. For sales teams already on monday.com, monday CRM Standard at $17 per seat is cheaper than most dedicated CRMs with AI agents, but it is lighter on forecasting than HubSpot.
monday dev and monday service prices
monday.com's other products use the same seat buckets but their own prices (US, per seat a month):
| Product | Basic | Standard | Pro | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| monday dev | $9 yearly / $12 monthly | $12 yearly / $14.50 monthly | $20 yearly / $25 monthly | Custom |
| monday service | No Basic plan | $31 yearly / $34 monthly | $45 yearly / $52 monthly | Custom |
Products can be bundled in one account on different plans and seat counts, but they must share the same billing cycle. On Enterprise, every bundled product must be on Enterprise, with a 12-month minimum term.
Nonprofit, student and refund rules
Nonprofits that qualify get 10 free Pro seats on the AI work platform, CRM, service and dev products, 70% off extra seats, 33% off Enterprise upgrades and 33% off AI credits. Schools, universities, hospitals and government-run bodies are excluded; applications are checked through Goodstack.
Students are pointed to the Free plan, which allows 2 seats. Refunds are available to first-time buyers who ask within 30 days (prorated, and access stops immediately). Monthly renewals and renewed yearly plans are not refundable, and existing customers must give 30 days' notice to stop a renewal.
- Pick your bucket before your team size. If you have 6 or 7 people, you pay for 10 seats anyway, so fill them or wait until you need them.
- Pay yearly: Basic drops from $12 to $9 per seat a month, and AI credits from $0.0125 to $0.01 each.
- Put stakeholders who only need to look on as viewers. They are free on every paid plan.
- Watch guests on Standard: every 4 guests use 1 seat, and going over your bucket triggers an automatic upgrade. Pro has unlimited guests.
- Nonprofits should apply before buying: 10 free Pro seats can cover a whole small team.
