Adobe Express Pricing (2026): Free, Premium, Teams Plans

Quick answer

Adobe Express Premium costs US$9.99 a month on Adobe's US website, billed monthly with no annual commitment, and Adobe's US App Store listing also sells it for US$99.99 a year. Free costs nothing and is a real plan, not a trial. Teams costs US$4.99 per licence a month in the first year, then US$7.99, on an annual subscription with a 2-seat minimum. Firefly Pro at US$19.99 a month includes Express Premium plus 4,000 generative credits and Photoshop on the web and mobile. Enterprise and Higher Education are sold by Adobe's sales team, and K-12 schools get Express free.

These are US prices on 25 September 2026; Adobe shows local prices in other countries. Most individuals should start on Free, move to Premium for premium templates, stock and one-click Resize, and choose Firefly Pro only if they need lots of AI.

Prices checked 25 September 2026 on Adobe Express's official pricing page. Prices are in US dollars unless stated and can change at any time.

Is there a free plan?

Adobe Express Free never expires and needs no card. You get 100,000+ templates, 1M+ Adobe Stock photos, videos and music tracks, 4,000+ Adobe Fonts, standard photo, video and document tools, background removal, 10 PDF Quick Actions a month, social scheduling to 1 account per network, 5GB of storage and 10 days of version history. AI is limited to a daily number of free generations that Adobe does not publish, plus a few lifetime trial uses of newer features (5 for Generate Presentations). Premium templates, one-click Resize and brand kits need Premium.

Hidden costs and catches
  • 250 credits is not much. Premium and Teams include 250 generative credits a month per user. Credits reset monthly and do not roll over, so heavy AI users end up on a Firefly plan (Standard costs US$9.99 a month for 2,000 credits).
  • Teams price rises after year one. The US$4.99 per licence price is a first-year discount; it renews at US$7.99. Teams is an annual subscription, billed monthly, with a 2-seat minimum.
  • Firefly Pro swaps credits, not adds them. Firefly Pro includes Express Premium features but not Premium's 250 credits; you get its 4,000-credit pool instead.
  • Trials turn into subscriptions. Premium's 30-day trial and Firefly Pro's 7-day trial start billing when they end unless you cancel.
  • Local pricing and tax. Adobe shows prices in local currency and they vary by country, so the US figures here may not match your checkout.

Is Adobe Express worth the money?Ranked #2 in our Best AI Graphic Design Tools

Yes for most people who design every week, and it is the cheaper of the two big template editors. At US$9.99 a month, Premium costs less than Canva Pro (US$18 a month or US$144 a year) and adds every premium template, 200M+ stock assets, all Adobe Fonts, one-click Resize and brand kits. If you would otherwise pay for stock photos or fonts, it pays for itself quickly.

The weak spot is AI volume. 250 credits a month covers a few generations a day, not a daily image or video habit. If AI is the main reason you are paying, Firefly Pro at US$19.99 includes Express Premium plus 4,000 credits, which is the better deal. Teams at US$4.99 per licence in year one is good value for two or more people, but budget for the US$7.99 renewal.

How generative credits work in Express

Adobe counts AI in generative credits. Most standard features, such as one text-to-image generation or a generative fill, use 1 credit; premium features such as video generation use more. Credits renew monthly on your billing date and do not roll over.

Plan AI allowance
Free Limited free daily generations
Premium 250 credits a month
Teams 250 credits a month per user
Firefly Pro 4,000 credits a month plus unlimited standard image features
Enterprise From 250 credits a month per user

When you run out, you can wait for the monthly reset or add a Firefly plan. Adobe says it will not charge you for extra credits unless you choose to buy them.

Education, Teams and buying through app stores

K-12 Education is free for qualified schools, teachers and students (Adobe lists it as regularly US$9.99) and includes 250 credits a month. Higher Education is sold through Adobe sales, with admin tools and consolidated billing.

Teams is the cheapest way for two or more people to share brand assets: US$4.99 per licence a month in year one, then US$7.99, with a 2-seat minimum and 1TB of pooled storage per user.

Adobe's US App Store listing also shows a yearly Premium option at US$99.99 and a mobile subscription at US$4.99 a month or US$49.99 a year. Adobe's web pricing page does not describe the mobile plan, so check what it includes in the app before buying.

Money-saving tips from our editors
  1. Use the 30-day Premium trial on a real campaign, then cancel before day 30 if you do not need premium templates or Resize. Billing starts when the trial ends.
  2. If you need both Express Premium and more AI, buy Firefly Pro (US$19.99) instead of Premium plus Firefly Standard (US$19.98): you get 4,000 credits instead of 2,250.
  3. For two people, Teams in year one (2 x US$4.99) costs about the same as one Premium plan (US$9.99), and adds brand controls and admin tools.
  4. Teachers should sign up for the free K-12 plan rather than paying for Premium.
  5. Spend credits on final images, not drafts: the free plan's daily generations and non-AI tools are fine for early ideas.

Jargon explained

Generative credits
Adobe's units for AI features. Each image or effect uses some credits, and your plan gives a fixed number each month that does not roll over.

Brand kit
A saved set of logos, fonts and colours that you can apply to any design in one click.
IP indemnification
A promise by the vendor to cover your legal costs if someone claims AI output infringes their copyright or trademark.
Content Credentials
Labels attached to a file that record how it was made, including whether AI was used.
